Well, I had guessed that my hotel was the Mirage because it was the only 5* listed, but you are right -- it is actually Mr C, which must be new to the list.

I'm okay with the hotel but the price wasn't good at all. $257 for what Hotwire said was a $510 room (Jan 18 - 21), but actually the Mr C reservation website sells the same rooms on the same nights, WITH free wifi, for $294 and it is fully cancellable.

So I'm sure the hotel will be fine, but I would say that my first experience of bidding on Hotwire is not a very good discount at all. Hardly any discount when you factor in the free wifi value.

Unfortunately I had not seen your reply before I booked. I am okay with the outcome -- it's a decent hotel and a decent rate -- but disappointed in that I thought you get better discounts from Hotwire. Don't know if I'd use it any more.

Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the result, but glad you are pleased with the hotel. The "retail price" HOTWIRE shows isn't the price of the underlying property, is an average of comparable properties in the area.
