AaronJB Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 The 4* MM/WT could be a number of different properties, including the Drake, Knickerbocker, Allerton, Westin and the Avenue, but I'd guess the Allerton is most likely. The 4* MM/RN could be the Sax, Felix or Palomar, but I'd guess the Sax is the most likely.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
gloryglory Posted January 2, 2013 Author Report Posted January 2, 2013 Thanks for your help. Given that we are not travelling to Chicago until mid Feburary - would you recommend hotwiring/purchasing the hotel later... i.e. does anyone have suggestions re: prices going down versus up over the next 6 weeks between Jan-Feb?Thanks!Will be using the HOTWIRE link to make my purchase.
thereuare Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your stay, but i don't think there is much price risk since $74-$84 for a 4* hotel in Chicago would seem to be a pretty good deal.If price is the sole objective you can likely do a little better by bidding on PRICELINE, but you'll need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating you select. The bigger risk/factor in waiting is that if there are criteria above that you like in a hotel (Boutique property, high TA rating, etc.) these listings could disappear at any time and be replaced with a hotel that doesn't offer any/all of the characteristics of these hotels that you are seeking. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. AaronJB Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 If you are willing to stay at any of the 4* properties in the River North-NMA area, I'd suggest seeing if you could get a 4* in the $58-64 range on PRICELINE. On HOTWIRE, I'd say prices are likely not far from a realistic floor for the area during the Winter. They may go a little bit lower (or may not if there's a convention or other event during this period), but also - as noted - different listings may appear.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
