thereyouare,

first, thanks for hooking me up with the NYC hotel. The hudson hotel is incredible and I wish I could stay there again, but with no guarantees and all....

anyway, i'm going to chicago next and would like to know what your opinion is of a three star and a botique? what's the difference and some examples? I'm putting my bids in for a four star but i've been turned down, so i'm going to wait three days and try again.

thanks again for the help.

Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area

North Michigan Ave - River North Area

i really want to stay in these two areas, but when i bid i threw in midway / 4 star cause i've read there aren't any 4 stars in that area.

ill be there from the 23 - 25 september. max bid? 100, but i'd love to stay around 75 ish. i'll even go to a 2 star if i have to.

i started at 50, went up in 5 dollar increments and then ran out of options.

closed out

went back in with 60 with 5 dollar increments, same thing

closed out

went back with 70 starting and then ran out of zones.

any suggestions?

You actaully have two re-bid zone available at the 4* level. It's not a good idea to use re-bid zoens without first understanding them (ie- "i read that adding ZoneXYZ has no 4* hotels") since hotels are added/removed/upgraded/downgraded all the time and you could ultimately end up in a zone you don't want.

Please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your two re-bid zones with the board.

We'll then be able to suggest a strategy to follow.

can you repost that bidding explanation? i'm not getting this. I've tried all week to go 4star with my zones being NMA and LOOP, starting with 85, then attempting to go up in 5 and ten dollar increments.

the only problem is that it keeps asking me to pick different neighborhoods and / or stars therefore, my bids are very limited. how do I bid and close my browser and start over and how do I rebid for my original initial zone?

sorry for all the questions, but i don't seem to be having the luck everyone else is having with that PALMER HOUSE DEAL.

Start like this...

List all the zones in Chicago and the highest star rating offered in each zone:

The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time.
