barney2225 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I'm new here so please be patient with me. If I am able to get a 5* property that states it has a casino, it won't be Vdara or Trump? Are there any other 5* withoout casinos on the strip? Thanks
thereuare Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Yes, your thesis above should be correct. You can see all hotels reported to the board in this Hotwire Hotel List. The Four Seasons has been seen listed without a Casino amenity, but this property is on the top floors of Mandalay Bay so it could be debated whether this property does/doesn't have a casino. The Mandarin Oriental has never been seen as a win thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, but if they ever do/begin to participate with the opaque providers i'm sure they would be 5* rated and they too do not have a casino on-site.If there is a specific hotel currently offered that you're interested in and you provide the details (dates, star rating, zone, amenities, etc) we can try to help in taking out 'best guess' to identify it.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. barney2225 Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Posted December 29, 2012 I'm new here so please be kind. I've had a quick look at both Hotwire and Priceline via your links but have a couple of questions. I am interested in a 5 star hotel either North or South strip, but want to stay somewhere with a casino, on priceline I can't be guaranteed that - is that right? Could I end up with Trump or Vdara or is there somewhere that I can filter out those without casinos? Also, once I have placed a bid and given my card details, if my bid is successful - that's it - I've paid and bought? If this is the case then I would probably be better trying Hotwire as they state the amenities, so if it states casino, then it won't be Trump? Thanks for any advice. (my trip is for 7 nights January 29th - February 5th)
AaronJB Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Once you bid and a hotel accepts, you are locked in at that hotel at the bid rate for those dates in a non-refundable reservation. You can find the hotels that have been reported to the board on PRICELINE here - Priceline Hotel List Nevada. However, things can change (star rating changes, new hotels, etc) at any time.PRICELINE has "guaranteed amenities" that show when selecting star rating. You can look to see if casino is showing as a guaranteed amenity for your zone/star rating selection. If not, then you can look on HOTWIRE for a hotel with casino listed as an amenity.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 PRICELINE has "guaranteed amenities" that show when selecting star rating. If you choose to bid you should double check before bidding, but at the moment, bidding 5* in the 'Las Vegas Strip North' zone shows Casino as a guaranteed amenity (NOT to be confused with the 'Las Vegas Strip Vicinity zone). The Strip South zone is often a little cheaper then the Strip North zone, so if cost is also a factor, or if you prefer the Strip South zone, then using HOTWIRE and choosing a hotel that shows the Casino amenity would be the better option.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
