retfar Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I've been trying to get a hotel for three nights in May in San Francisco but seems like hotel prices are really high on those dates. Not sure why. Is there anything going on?Anyway, tried Hotwire for 4 star hotels but seemed quite expensive for these dates. Tried using Priceline for those dates for 4 star up to $195 and kept getting rejected. I decided to try using 3.5 Upscale Plus and started from $140 and went up $5 increments using re-bid zones. I finally won at $190 for the Orchard Garden Hotel. The equivalent hotel on Hotwire was $185 and $190 was going to be my last attempt on Priceline, so at least I've got a hotel. :)Javi

Google I/O Developer Day is taking place in San Francisco from 5/14-5/16 (5K attendees) and there is a Psychiatric Conference from 5/18-5/22 (14K attendees)... both of which i assume are helping to drive up hotel rates for your dates.Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
