Reny Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Who can help me figure out what hotel this might be:5/9/13 till 5/12/13 Indoor pool(s), Pool(s)High-Speed Internet AccessSmoke Free Rooms, Restaurants Fitness CenterBusiness center It is listed for "only" $ 112, which is a lot cheaper than most 4* hotels. This makes me wonder why.Thank youRenyPS: so far I have never booked with Hotwire or Priceline. Is it too soon to look for hotels for May 2013??
AaronJB Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. My guess would be the Sheraton. Hotels handle their distribution of inventory to discount services and some may more aggressively discount in general or some periods of the year (and some may use the services frequently or rarely.)Technically/usually, this is a bit early for booking in the Spring. However, keep in mind that Spring in Chicago (baseball games, nicer weather, etc) is traditionally not a slow period and prices are realistically going to be higher than average. Prices may come down or go higher, there is no way to know, but if it's a traditional Spring, rates can go higher if there's visible demand.Keeping in mind *realistic* prices for the Spring, I think $112 is a good deal. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Reny Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Posted December 29, 2012 You were right Aaron, it was the Sheraton.9/5/13 till 12/5/13 Total price $ 404,27, taxes and all charges included. Thank you for your help!Reny

AaronJB Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 The hotel could say no, but I'd suggest inquiring if you could get a room on a high floor, as you'd have a better chance of at least a nice partial view of the surrounding area.If you cross the street and head to the West of this property (walking along the river), you'll go past NBC Tower and wind up on Michigan Ave. (Sort of a back route to quickly get to Michigan Ave.)There's also a Dominicks grocery on the opposite corner, for cheaper snacks/drinks to take back to the hotel, or for the day.Enjoy your stay.
