While perhaps not your favorite hotel in the zone, glad to see this works for your needs and (for the price) you can manage.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

I have stayed at this property before and you will be shocked at how large the rooms are, especially since you're in Manhattan. Unless you've stayed before, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Subway is a block down the street, the hotel is quiet and really well located.
