b4zZ Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Hi guys, i`m searching for help or advices from you :)a friend of mine and me are planning our las vegas trip during the date of 2/14/13 - 2/17/13.It will be our first time in las vegas respectively in the usa :Di heard a lot of things like "if u are in vegas, u dont need a good hotel" but we both guys from germany want to have a great weekend in las vegas, so we decided to book something goodnow my question,we could book a deluxe suite in the mgm signature with strip view and a balcony for about 450$,now we ask ourselves, could we get a better hotel for a lower price like a 5* hotel :DWhat we want is a nice room with great view (strip view would be perfect) and a casino at the hotel...now i am asking u, should we make the deal with the signature or should we try to bid for a 5* hotel and get better prices ?
thereuare Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is your rate at the MGM Signature $450 all-in including taxes/fees? If so, i think that is the best you can do if a strip view and casino hotel are must have as opposed to a want. You can't guarantee a strip view with any PRICELINE or HOTWIRE purchases, as well, in the Strip South zone there are 5* hotels that don't have a casino on-site (ie- the Vdara for which you would need to go next door to the Aria for the closest casino). If you're willing to accept a non-casino hotel and not guarantee a view of the strip, then you have a chance at a 5* hotel within your budget... but if these are must have then the opaque providers are not going to be a good option for you for this trip.Let us know if/how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. b4zZ Posted December 21, 2012 Author Report Posted December 21, 2012 thx for your answer, yeah, the price is included with all the taxes/(casino)fees, we would book it by a private renter i guess...but after reading some of the topics, i guess it would be able to book a 5* hotel for circa 100-120 $ the night, so i would be max 360$ + taxes/fees and resort fee, if necessaryi dont really know, if these both ameneties should be must haves, its like i told the first time in vegas.so i dont know :maybe we can solve the strip view or "good view" at the reception with a tip...
thereuare Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Depending upon availability you can probably get the view you want with a tip at the front desk, but it depends upon the front desk person, as well as your check-in being Valentine's Day hotels may be a bit busier then your typical Thursday nite.If you're also willing to forgo the guarantee of a casino in the hotel, then i would start with the following:When bidding 5* in Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip South...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Strip North...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Strip South and Strip North...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125I sent as high as $125 but you are of course welcome to stop at whatever amount you're comfortable with. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Any of the hotels in the Priceline Hotel List would be the most likely outcome, but as per the comments at the top of the list, there could always be others. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. b4zZ Posted December 28, 2012 Author Report Posted December 28, 2012 hey guys,we got The Venetian for 118$/night :)Think it's a great deal and will be a better option than the mgm signaturei guess it will be the luxury suitei looked at the venetian homepage, there it would cost us without taxes and fees 540$ (the same room @hotels.com 753$ :D)
