dogan Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Just found out about this site and could use some help. I'm going to NYC with the girlfriend (her first time) from 12/24 - 12/31 (7 Nights) for vacation and currently have rooms booked at the Pan American Hotel in Queens, NY for about $132 a night after taxes. I fly into Newark airport in Jersey on 12/24 and will depart from JFK on the 12/31. I plan to get a 7 day metrocard and will hit up all the usual touristy spots and museums.Since Queens might be kind of far to central Manhattan, do you think I can do better than the Pan American with Priceline? Only requirements are that the hotel be safe and close to public transportation. Looking to spend a max of $150/night after taxes. Any bidding advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!$150 all-in (which equates to ~$125 bid price) isn't going to be likely for a hotel in Manhattan for this complete stay. However, you can probably do substantially better if SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is an option... staying the earlier nites of your trip in Manhattan and then the later nite(s) outside of the city. Is this something you would want to pursue? If so, are you able to cancel some of the nites of your reservation at the PanAm... and if so, what is the rate for the last nite, two nites, and three nites? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dogan Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Posted December 20, 2012 What about a room in Manhattan from 12/28 - 12/31? Does that help at all? What's the minimum I'd have to bid for something like that?
thereuare Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 For 12/28-12/31 you're likely looking at the low $200's.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
