ksunson Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Hi,Saw some great tips :) in this site for bidding!Hence looking for a good bidding strategy for my trip to vegas this labor day for 4 nights from sep 3 to 6.Willing to split the bid as per below dates:3&4 sep:Basically wanted a descent hotel for this period:sat and sun (maybe a 3+* and mainly looking for accessibility to strip with descent amenities inside hotel) either "ON"(preferably) or "Near" strip or Freemont/downtown for the first 2 days(sat and sun) and max limit is $70 avg per day(can i get golden nugget for this?).I know this is peak period...but wanted your valuable inputs.5&6sep:For the next 2 days(mon and Tue) in a 4*(min) "ON" the strip not more than $70(my max limit other than Luxor)Willing to add $10 more/day for all 4 days above if there is a tempting offer(free Breakfast, casino coupons,shows..etc) from a hotel. Many Thanks!SUNSON
thereuare Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!I assume you're dates are actually 9/3 (check-in) to 9/7 (check-out)?Are you also willing to split your dates 9/3 and then 9/4-9/7 or does any split have to be as above?Regardless of whether or not you're going to split or not, you may have a bit of trouble with a Saturdy check-in.Let us know and we'll pursue it further. ksunson Posted August 20, 2005 Author Report Posted August 20, 2005 Hi thereuare,Thanks!.Yes my checkin is 9 evening and checkout is 9 morning.By mistake i think i added this post in hotwire. But i prefer PL.U r right by saying most hotels doesn't allow saturday check-in.That was one reason i wanted to bid for 2 days(sat and sun) so that my chances increase(does hotels who allow to bid allow sat checkin for 1 day stay?) but am okay to split between 3 and 4,5,6 as you suggested.I wanted to split between 3&4 and 5&6 for 2 reasons:1)I found min 2 day stay in most hotels(i thought this would matter while i bid,but i may be wrong)2)The avg price for sat and sun is extremly high and mon & tue is extremely low.Hence if i bid for sun/mon/tue i may end up paying more(as some one pointed in some of the posts here)If sat check-in is really a problem, i am okay to stay in 2.5* also and split the bid as you suggested as i would be mostly outbound sat and sun during daytime and wanted only a peaceful sleep durning night:lol:.Please suggest a strategy! Thanks!
ksunson Posted August 21, 2005 Author Report Posted August 21, 2005 correction to above posting "Yes my checkin is 9 evening and checkout is 9 morning"." shd be read as "Yes my checkin is 9/3 evening and checkout is 9/7 morning".
thereuare Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Getting a property for 9/5-9/7 within your budget shouldn't be a problem, but for 9/3-9/5 i think you're going to have to be a bit more realistic in your search.I think for 9/3-9/5 you're going to need to raise limit to the low $100's (for Alexis Park @ $98/nite, Circus Circus, San Remo, etc type of properties). One solution i just came up with:Four Queens for 9/3 $93/nite.Then switch to the Golden Nugget on 9/4 for $96/nite... or book the Orleans for $116/nite.For 9/5-9/7 there are plenty of choices but we can suggest those once we know how you we be going about the above (if we need just 2 nites or 3 nites) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
