romberj Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Recently struck out for a 4* in Austin for 9/3-9/6 using the following bids:-55-60-63-65-70-72-75With this being a holiday weekend, any ideas of what it might take to get a winning bid? Any advice would be appreciated.
thereuare Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Are you willing to SPLIT YOUR BID?If not, Hotwire has a 4* for $116/nite (possibly the Hilton) but the direct rate at the HILTON is only $125/nite (if booking all 3 days together) so i would sooner just book direct.Let us know your thoughts regarding splitting the bid and we'll advise further. romberj Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Posted August 22, 2005 I prefer not to split the bid. I have another chance to bid coming up late this afternoon. For a non-split bid, any advice? If it doesn't work out, the rate at the Hilton is reasonable and I'll likely use it as plan B. Again, appreciate any help.
thereuare Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Since you would ultimately take the Hilton-direct rate, i would pick up where you left off:80859095100105110If that is rejected than you can take the HILTON direct (please use this link to Hilton if you go that route... although the rate is now $139/nite)HOWEVER, Hotwire is still showing a 4* at $119, and now also showing a 4.5* (believed to be the Inter-Continental) for $117... so take your pick :) Let us know how it goes and what you choose to do.
