swweetipie Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 I have tried bidding for 4* in midtown east, midtown west, and times square areas up to $140 with no luck for 12/14-12/19. Any help would be appreciated.
AaronJB Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 Sorry to hear that your bids haven't been accepted. :(Unfortunately, this is right around the turn lower in holiday rates - 12/1-15 is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year, with holiday shopping and festivities. Would splitting your stay be acceptable?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
swweetipie Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 I would rather not split the trip between hotels. Do you have a suggestion for a price that would be accepted?
thereuare Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 I think you might get a 4* hotel in one of the zones listed in the $165-$185 range.Let us know if you'd like to revise your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. KennySC Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 I've been bidding the last few days for 12/13 - 12/16 4* in TS, MTW, CPS, ESB and UWS from $160 to $200 with no luck. Bidding NYC this time of year takes patience.... Trying to remember that and not jump the gun and bid too high.
swweetipie Posted December 11, 2012 Author Report Posted December 11, 2012 After weeks of bidding and getting nervous about not finding a room, I finally won the Millennium Broadway at $178/night. I'm happy with this for a prime location in NY. Thanks. I did use your PRICELINE link.
thereuare Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you were ultimately successful and happy with the result of your winning bid.Can you confirm that you won this hotel for one nite, Dec 11, or is this actually the same stay as your previous Priceline hotel request and the dates should be Dec 14-19?Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.
