Expected a choppy and challenging Priceline bidding process, given somewhat high transparent rates throughout L.A. on this night, and somewhat limited Hotwire availability (and high prices).

But my first bid of $100 in Hollywood, 4 stars, was accepted, unexpectedly, by the W:
