LFS Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 I started by bidding $40 for a 3.5 star hotel in the "Downtown" region. This was rejected, and they suggested going up to $49. I then bid $43, added "Madison South," and kept it at 3.5 stars. I won the Sheraton. At the same time, I checked Hotwire and believed the 3.5 Star Downtown hotel to be the Sheraton, based on other posts in this forum. The price was listed at $51/night, and the amenities were: Free Parking, Free Internet, Indoor Pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High Speed Internet AccessRatings: 95% like, 4.5 for "overall sat, condition, quality of service, room comfort, room cleanliness". And a 4.0 for "location of hotel" - these could change over time. So, I saved $$ by going with Priceline instead of Hotwire. For 4 nights-total costs: $243.62 - 206.36 = $37.26 savings with Priceline!I also booked a stay with similar techniques/results that I put in another priceline hotel post.
