Thanks. I just clicked on both links. A friend of mine just booked the 4* minutes ago and got the Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel. I'm still researching so any feedback would be great.

The 4.5* matches previous reports for the Inter-Continental Times Square so that would be my best guess for that one.

I'm not currently seeing this 4* offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing this on your own search? If so, what is the room rate, as i see a 4* hotel in this zone for $168 but it has different amenities then what you've posted above.

Are you committed to the Times Square zone, as i think you can get a much better value staying in one of the neighboring zones.

When I search for 2 adults and 2 children on HW I get a 4* in Times Square for $192.

Ok, I just booked a 4* in Times Square after searching for 2 adults, 2 kids. $192 plus tax.

Glad to see you received the same hotel as your friend which will make traveling together easier.

HOTWIRE will often display different offers when searching for quad occupancy vs. double occupancy (especially in NYC where rooms to accommodate 4 people usually come at a premium price) which is likely why i didn't see the same property that you were (as i was only using the default 2adults to search by).
