KatiesMom Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I am thinking of taking a 2 night mini-vacation in NYC just after Columbus Day starting 10/09. Any two (consecutive) nights during that week is fine with me. I started fooling around with hotwire and Expedia to get the lay of the land. The best deal I saw (only going 4* route) was what appears to be the Millennium UN Plaza for $236/night for 10/14-10/16.Not liking that price.Saw some posts way back for that week where someone got the NY Hilton for $130/night on priceline. Just wondering what you think my chances are of getting a price like that...and if so what dates would you recommend bidding. Or do you know of another option? Thanks for all help...and as always I will bid through savingsbarn.com or whatever link is appropriate. This help is invaluable and the least we can all do is place our bids through your affiliates to help keep it running.

KatiesMom Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 Followed the bidding strategy and it did not work this time. But hey it was worth a shot.
thereuare Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 When you can bid again, raise each bid by $10 (then again by $5 each time after that until you get to your maximum bid of $175)... hopefully you followed that if not let us know and i'll explain further. If you're looking for a back-up and this trip will happen no matter what, the Beekman Tower is available for $201/nite... there is not booking fee so about $20/nite than your $175 maximum bid.
