I really like the looks of this site. I know that seems minor but hey...it's true.

We are hitting up DL after X-mas driving from Phoenix. We have been there several times and have been really happy with previous PL hotels.

We have a Roadway Inn ($478 for 5 days, no parking/resort fee and free breakfast)reserved as back up but prefer to stay in a little bit nicer location. We are prepared to purchase the ART for transportation to DL if needed.

I have used the previously suggested format but had ZERO luck. Am I too early in bidding?

Welcome to BetterBidding... we're glad you're here :)

While you may be able to get a last minute deal, i don't think the current issue is that you're too early, the more likely explanation is that you're traveling to this area during an extremely busy time... due to schools being on vacation for Christmas/winter break it's a peak time for families to head to Disneyland for vacation.

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 3.5* or better hotel for these dates?

You can also keep an eye on our Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins to see if any hotels are reported in either of these zones for your specific dates (you can find all of our tools using the TOOLS drop down menu at the top of the board on the bottom row of the blue header)

So you're looking for an almost 50% discount during a very busy time of year... hotels may not be willing to discount this much with a month to go, given they expect high demand and are hoping to fill (or have already filled) many/most rooms on their own at full price. You may get a hotel to discount more deeply closer to your stay, but you also run the risk that hotels fill-up and you're stuck with your current back-up reservation.

Given a 3.5* is currently selling for $122/nite, and your back-up of ~$95/nite at the Rodeway Inn, how much of a discount would you need from the $122/nite rate to make upgrading to a 3.5* property worthwhile? (or is $68 the highest you're willing to bid?)

I love doing this. It makes me feel like I am saving a ton right before I go blow a ton on corn dogs and cotten candy. LOL

I looked at the Roadway Inn and our room is $88 a night after taxes. No resort/parking fees. They do include breakfast which is nice but not a deal breaker. I am willing to forgo breakfast for a better nights sleep. So to answer the question I guess I would love to stay at or below the $88 a night after taxes and fees.

Are the taxes based on the bid and if so at what percentage?

Is your all-in $440 ($88 x 5 nites) OR $478 (as previously posted)

A $76 bid gets you to $440 all-in... an $83 bid gets you to $480 all-in. Which is it that you'd like to use as your maximum bid price?
