Priceline Hotel: Bidding help NYC 06/21-06/23

Looking for some bidding advice.

Already used rebids (twice) up to $180 with no luck. Looking for 4-star in CPS, MTE, MTW, TS, ESB. June 21-23, 2013.

Just saw someone posted a 4-star $137 win for the May long weekend. Should I expect to pay so much more for some reason? Am I bidding too early?

Rates are date specific and may differ substantially from one month to the next.

I think it's too early to chase this one and while you may ultimately may need to go higher, i wouldn't be bidding much past $165 or so at this point in time. However, when you do bid, is there a reason you're not using all SEVEN SIX re-bid zones available at the 4* level? If you're not sure how to determine your re-bid zones please see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before replying.

Rates are somewhat high for these dates at the moment and you may want to use MAPS and HOTELS.com to try to find a fully refundable reservation in order to protect yourself from rates moving higher (should they move in that direction instead of lower).

Sorry, when I said rebids twice, I meant that I went through all seven rebid zones, quit, and did the entire routine again the next day.

Thanks for the help.

BTW, I only count six rebid zones for 4-star. What am I missing?

Sorry, i mistyped earlier... you're correct in that there are only SIX re-bid zones at the 4* level.
