Hotwire Hotel: need 3 rooms in Vegas

Hiya,

This is probably a 'dumb blonde' question, but I'll go ahead and ask it anyway!

I've used Hotwire successfully before booking just the one room for myself and my husband.

This time I will need 3 rooms in Vegas, for 4 people.

If I search for 3 rooms for 4 people, and find an offer that I'm happy with, I will get the same hotel for all 3 rooms won't I?

Sorry if it's probably obvious that I will, I didn't want to go ahead and book and end up with us all in different hotel, especially as I'm in charge of the hotel booking!

Multiple rooms purchased in the same transaction will be at the same hotel.

What are the dates of your stay? What is your desired zones, star rating, and budget?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! (please click each of these previous links before replying)

Thanks.

Thanks thereuare

Dates are not 100% definite yet as I also have other accommodation to book as well in a few other places, but it will be a 4 night stay within the last 2 weeks of May. I will of course use the links here to book!

Hi,

Using the HOTWIRE link above I've found the following 5 star hotels in Vegas

Dates are 12th May for 4 nights, 1 room for 2 people

I've listed all the relevant info (I hope!) and I'd be grateful for help to id them, I've put my best guess at the end of each one. 4 in total - sorry!

Many thanks

I'm guessing at Trump?

5* North - would potentially be a match for the Wynn.

5* South - likely match for the Aria.

5* South - match for Vdara or Four Seasons, but I'd lean towards the former.

5* North - likely Trump.

thanks for the reply.

I'm surprised at the large difference between the prices for north and south strip (Trump excluded), is there a reason that the north strip is so much higher?

I wasn't expecting to have to pay that much through Hotwire.

Would I be better trying to bid on priceline, do they typically go for less on priceline.

North Strip is generally more popular and more expensive than South Strip; PRICELINE would very likely be cheaper but the issue would be less control over where you may end up. If you bid on a 5* North Strip, for example, you have to be willing to stay at *any* 5* in the shaded zone area (whereas with HOTWIRE, you can try to make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing.)

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

...is there a reason that the north strip is so much higher?

Due to the zone boundaries and who owns the 5* hotels in each zone, there is a little less competition in the North Strip zone and with less competition it's a little easier for them to maintain a slightly higher price.

Still not booked a Vegas hotel, as I'm watching the prices for a 5star north strip hotel and hoping that they'll come down a bit. Once I'm happy with the price I'll book and post the details here.

I'm currently seeing $154 for a 5 star strip north. I'm wanting $125 to then account for a $25 daily resort fee. My ideal max is $150 per night.

I may or may not need 3 rooms, there's a bit of conflict between the group as to where to stay!! We may all end up in different hotels at this rate!!

The dates are still the same - a 4 night stay from 5/12.

I do use the links for my searches.

Are you ready to book a room without the others OR will you wait to resolve any issues to see if everyone can ultimately agree upon a place, budget, star rating, etc?

thanks for all the help and advice.

booked Planet Hollywood in the end on their own website and got a rate of $71 per night, no resort fee either.

would rather have held out for a HOTWIRE 5star within our budget but the rest of our group wanted to book Planet Hollywood and were grouching about us all staying in different hotels!

that's what happens when you holiday with friends hey!!
