Long time listener, first time caller...

Started at $72, then $87, then $102, and scored at $117.

Thank you for all your work on this great site, thought I'd finally do my part to help out.

I was checking prices for an upcoming trip to Las Vegas (2/20/13 - 2/22/13) and had a question.

I was looking at 5 star hotels at Strip - North and the hot Rate is showing $144 per night. The amenities (spa, resort, free parking, smoke free, fitness, pools, restaraunts, business center, internet, golf, tennis, and kitchenette) lead me to believe it's Trump Tower.

Knowing this, I checked the standard rates, and, low and behold, Trump Tower is going for $135 a night. I couldn't figure out why the hot Rate would be MORE than the standard rate.

I ended up booking through PRICELINE anyway, but was curious as to whether others have had this happen before, and, if so, does HOTWIRE do anything to help if you lost money by taking the hot Rate?

Like I said, nothing important, but curiousity got the better of me.
