Hotwire Hotel: First Time Using Hotwire and this Board

Hello,

I have never used Hotwire or this board before so please excuse my questions! I am looking for a hotel as close to Harrah's Casino as possible for one night on 11/16/2012. That is this Friday. It looks like the Hilton Riverfront would be closest but when I search for hotels in that area, the amenties do not match the Hilton. I am guessing that hotel is not a choice.

If anyone could give me any tips or help getting what I need, I would appreciate it.

The 'Downtown' and 'Convention Center' zones on HOTWIRE are the closest to Harrahs. If you search HOTWIRE for your dates, is there anything that comes up within your desired star rating and budget? If so, what are the amenities associated with the property(s) that meet your budget and star rating criteria? If you're unable to get close enough for your needs you can also try our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com where you can enter the address of Harrah's into the search box (228 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70130), change the mile radius to 1 mile (to reduce the number of hotels shown on the map) and easily see how much hotels in the immediate cost for your nite, as well as how much more/less it would cost to stay closer/further away OR to go up/down in star rating.

Thanks for your response. I followed your link and did a search on Hotwire for New Orleans, check in 11-16-12, check out 11-17-12, and then narrowed it down to 3 strs and up and then narrowed it down further to show only Downtown and Convention Center. I see a 3 Star for 96.00 in the downtown zone. These are the amenities:

This Hotel features the following amenities:

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities (self-service) .

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

There is also a 4.5 star hotel for 112.00 a night in the downtown zone. The amenities are:

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Best guess for the 3* would be a new amenity set for the Hilton Garden Inn.

For the 4.5* my guess would be the Le Pavillon.
