Got what I was later told an "upgraded" room on the 27th floor (facing south with a Strip view) that was the "lounge" part of a 2-room suite. It was a rather large room with a couch, two chairs, and several small tables and a nice sized flat screen TV and a desk. But the bed was a Murphy bad low to the floor--although not entirely uncomfortable and I did sleep well. But I did get noise from the room next door late one night and from being right next to the elevator shaft and vending room. Bathroom nicely upgraded, lots of counter space, large tub. There was no line at check in. The room was clean and I detected no smoke in it or the hallways. Wifi, regrettably, is not complimentary, but they do not impose a dishonest "resort" fee.The LVH used to be the Las Vegas Hilton, and before that the Intercontinental (when it was first built by Kirk Kirkorian). It got yet another new owner on November 1. The new owners are initially vowing to make this an "upscale" destination hotel again and are trying to get the name "Intercontinental" back. It has its own monorail stop, but it's well away from the Strip action. It's easy to get to by car: take I-15 to Sahara east, go past Las Vegas Boulevard and turn right at the light after Paradise. After the next light, you turn right into the north garage, and it's a short walk to registration.
