MandaKay Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 Priceline has a Marina/Lombard area for San Francisco. Does anyone know what hotels are in this area? It isn't on the hotels list for San Fran. I will need to be at the fort mason center... Not sure if fishermans wharf or marina/Lombard would be better. Any ideas? Thanks
AaronJB Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 You need to be willing to stay anywhere within the shaded zone, and there definitely may be hotels not yet reported to the board. The smaller Fisherman's Wharf zone would be - in general - closer to Fort Mason, whereas the wider Marina-Lombard zone may result in possibly being somewhat further away. Unfortunately, no hotels have been reported to the board yet in the Marina-Lombard zone, which appears to be a newer/mew zone. What are your date/s of travel/desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
MandaKay Posted November 12, 2012 Author Report Posted November 12, 2012 November 28-30. Was hoping to pay no more than $100 night. Also hoping for good parking rate (looks like Marriott in fisherman's wharf area has free parking).
thereuare Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Also hoping for good parking rate (looks like Marriott in fisherman's wharf area has free parking). Not exactly: On-site parking, fee: 13 USD hourly, 48 USD daily Valet parking, fee: 48 USD daily Parking fee excludes tax and includes in/out privilegesThe highest star rating offered in the Fisherman's Wharf zone is 3.5*... is that what you wanted to bid for?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MandaKay Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 Yeah... For fisherman's wharf I'd go for the 3.5*. After my last post, I realized the marriott free parking was only when purchasing a specific room package. I guess I'd like to spend around $100/night (including parking). I'm kidding myself, right? I would possibly go lower than 3.5* if it meant free parking...
thereuare Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 As parking costs are not shown before your purchase, how do you intend to factor this into the total price of what you're willing to pay?You can likely get something nice around $100 before taxes and fees and parking... but 'all-in' including parking (especially if the average for this area is similar to the Marriott's rate above) doesn't seem realistic.Lowing your bid amount to take into account any 'unknown' parking fees... what would your maximum bid be for this stay? If you search HOTWIRE does anything within your desired star rating and zone offer 'Free Parking'?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
