HOTWIRE has two 5* hotels downtown. One has a kitchenette so probably is La Grande Residence. The other could be either the Pan Pacific or Sutton Place (or some other 5*). If it looks possible and you post back here with the list of amenities, the experts can give you an educated guess as to what you might get.

With PRICELINE bidding, people have reported getting the Pan Pacific as a 4*. But there also are reports of eight other 4*s. There is no way to target a specific hotel when bidding. I guess that makes your odds about 1 in 9?

didnt take the vancouver trip. I'd like it to be less than 110 a night but if its cheaper than the 170 on Expedia i might be okay with whatever as long as it is 4 or 5 and close. id like a gym and free wireless

I'm assuming you meant Miami South Beach when you said "..didnt take the vancouver trip."?

You can't ensure specific amenities like gym and WIFI with PRICELINE. However, with HOTWIRE you can select for them. To check HOTWIRE, try the box up in the left hand corner.

I'm assuming the $170 is specifically for the Pan Pacific... are you willing to pay $170 for any 4* hotel or higher in the zone?

In light of the above, let us know if you'd like to try PRICELINE for the least expensive 4* (or 5*) for this stay OR if you'd prefer to use HOTWIRE to ensure the amenities that you'd like for this trip.
