Hi,

I'm looking for two rooms (3 people each) for NYC 11/29- 12/02.

My priceline bids today got rejected, which is good because after reading here I realized hotwire is probably a better option for us since we need two beds per room!

So what is the best strategy for hotwire?

Why is it referred to as 'bidding' when it looks like they name the price.

Do prices change often or should I just go for the lowest priced one in my desired area asap?

Any advice is greatly appreciated- we are so excited!

ETA: 3.5- 4 stars would be nice if we could get one for under $300 ($200 would also be nice, but according to my search so far, unlikely!)

This falls within the busiest period of the holiday festivities/shopping period (around 11/26-12/15)

I'm not seeing either listing when searching for these dates for 2 rooms/6 adults (different listings are appearing in the 3* spots for ESB and Chelsea). Are you still seeing the above listings? If so, how many people are you searching for?
