fmodo Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 First of all, this site is amazing. I've been using Priceline for years without any real strategy...bidding and waiting 24 hours each time for days on end. Can't believe I didn't know about this site until now. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum!I used this link (Priceline) to bid on a 4-Star hotel in NYC for two nights, 12/15 and 12/16. I selected zones 2, 11, 12, and 16 (CPS, MTE, MTW, TS). I started at $140 and went up by $5 each bid by adding zones 4, 8, 9, 13, 14, and 17 which do not have 4* hotels as of today. My bid was accepted at $170/night for the W New York Hotel. Total with taxes and fees for two nights was $418. Hotwire's lowest rate for a 4* hotel in MTE is $177 (total for two nights would be $436), and the lowest published rate for the W for those nights is $254 (total for two nights would be $590). Thanks everyone!
