Priceline Hotel: Bidding Strategy for 5* Vegas North or Vicinity South 11/02-11/04

Hi,

I've never used priceline, but think I have it figured out based on this site. In Vegas 11/02-11/10, with last 6 nights comped. First two nights I'm booked for Harrah's around $100/nt., but would like to try for Venetian/Palazzo/Wynn/Encore or Aria if its only slightly more. What would be your bidding strategy for LV North. I tried $130/nt for 11/2-11/4 and was rejected.

How high are you willing to bid for a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone before you take the Harrahs deal? If you reach your limit and are not successful for a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone, is a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone not acceptable? What about a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone? Either of these would seem to be a step up from your current back-up reservation.

Hi, I don't want to pay more than $200/night after taxes and fees for a 5 star property. This may not be feasible, considering I'm already at that if I bid $140/night.

4* properties in those locations would have to be significantly cheaper than the $97/night I'm paying at Harrah's to be worthwhile switching hotels on Sunday, as Harrah's is comped Sunday-Saturday, just not the first two nights.

HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel in the Strip South zone for $155/nite which all-in comes to $360... even if by all-in you include a possible $25 resort fee this would only put you $5 per nite over your target budget, and hopefully you could do $5 cheaper on PRICELINE (in order to stay within your $200 limit).

Are you willing to bid up to $150 on PRICELINE, as the $10 difference between this and what you have already bid may be the difference between success and failure.
