kamjorlawya Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Started at $60, added zone, bid $70. Won the bid. I was targeting this hotel based on other wins posted here. I was happy until I got there. This is a 2 star at best. This is the first of many Priceline wins that was bad. Normally, BetterBidding allows me to identify a good price and a method to identify the likely hotel but I should have looked at the reviews elsewhere. Old, no amenities. Another priceline customer had a problem with his reservation not being honored. The desk clerk was a jerk to the guy (who was remarkably calm), smug and demeaning and not trying at the least to help resolve the problem. There are apparently far better 2.5 star hotels. (Best Western plus, Outlook etc) but my guess is that this place will jump in and take the bids. I wonder if there is another way to avoid this one besides not using priceline. I would have been disappointed if I only paid $40.
