bluemango Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I have been bidding unsuccessfully under $100/room/night which I assume is well below the holiday season prices for Manhattan but I see only 4* hotels on the map. Is it hopeless? I will need 2 rooms as one of the teens traveling is a guest. It might be that only the high end hotels are seeking customers but not to the extend that they are willing to cut by less than 1/2 their prices. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding.Which map are you referring to?Additionally, please provide your date/s of travel, desired budget per night and which zones would be acceptable. $100 or under for a 4* in NYC is only seen generally during the slowest parts of the year (Jan/Feb).If you want to try for one room instead, you can indicate the amount of people in the party on HOTWIRE. PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy, especially in NYC.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
bluemango Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Posted October 24, 2012 I am referring to the PriceLine map posted on BetterBidding. I am excluding zones 5, 13, 17,18 on the PriceLine maps.travel dates: 12-25 to 12-28budget: $200-220/nightWe are going to need 3 separate beds and I don't think it's possible with just one room. An exception would be a location like the Minetta Suites.Thank you!
thereuare Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Are you referring to these Priceline Maps?PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. So even if you're bidding for 2 rooms you can't be assured of THREE beds between the two rooms... could you make do with only two beds? If not, what about one bed in each room and either a pullout sofabed or rollaway brought into one of the rooms, would this work for your needs? Also, please list the zone that you are willing to accept (rather than the ones that you won't) and also list the zones by name, as the numbers will change if/when PRICELINE adds new zones or changes the names associated with each zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
