thereuare Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 As the Best Western has previously been seen with just a solo Hi-Speed Internet amenity, that would be my best guess, although i do have some doubts and one can never be too confident with just one solo amenity shown (and a common one at that)Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay. Also, if you are interested in the Best Western it is available thru HOTWIRE's retail section for $53.50/nite which isn't too much of a premium if this is the hotel you want and it works best for your plans (although i do understand it adds upon on a 12 nite stay)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. AaronJB Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Do you need to be in this area? If not, I'd suggest seeing if you could get a 3* for a similar rate in the Vernon Hills or Deerfield area - a bit closer to the city and more to do. Vernon Hills and the nearby towns offer a ton of shopping and a fair amount of restaurants. Libertyville (which is just a little North of Vernon Hills) is a really cute little town, as well.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
stlbuddy Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 I like the suggestion of booking hotel for one day...and then extending it. Thank You!I will be in Abbott Labs for the two weeks. So, I was looking at 3* Suites around Abbott. I will also look at Vernon hills area. Isn't Deerfield a bit far from Waukagen Abbott location?
AaronJB Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 If you need to be at Abbott, Deerfield would definitely be too far. Waukegan/Gurnee would be the closest. Vernon Hills would be somewhat further, although would offer more in the way of restaurants/shopping nearby. If you do stay in Waukegan/Gurnee, I'd suggest heading South into Lake Forest, which is an absolutely beautiful town that offers some very nice restaurants.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
