Jennifer71 Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Hi, hoping you can help me out with a bidding strategy. Looking for 1 room in either Portland Downtown or Northwest, 4*. Willing to pay up to $140/night. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 There are no 4* hotels offered by PRICELINE in the Northwest zone so we will restrict your bidding to only the Downtown zone. When bidding 4* in Portland you have TWELVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108While i expect the above to fail would start with that, then if/when rejected wait 24 hours and re-try (once again using a PRICELINE link from the board and not any emails that PRICELINE may send telling you that you can bid again):Select 4* Downtown...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Jennifer71 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 Went up to $120 for 4* hotels in downtown Portland, decided that since the retail price for the cheapest 4* was $129 it wasn't worth going through the process above $120, so opened up to 3.5* and above, and got the Portland Marriott downtown for $93/nt.Thanks for your help!
