thereuare Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 I'm currently only seeing one of these hotels when searching HOTWIRE for your dates, this one:4 star $204 Recommended by 85%Amenities: Boutique* Smoke Free * Fitness Center * Restaurants * Business Center * High Speed Internet * Accessible for the blind, deaf *Accessible path of travel * In-room accessibility * Accessible bathroom* Handicapped parking * Roll in showerThe Hotel Sax would be my best guess for this one.Is it possible that some of the hotels above are in the Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower zone? (where as the one above is in the Magnificent Mile Area - River North zone)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. snowcat2033 Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks. I think you are right - there was only one in Mag Mile -River North zone. Would The Hotel Sax be worth that price? I have now the hotel Public for that period for USD 490 total. I do not know which would be better location. We are staying in Marriott Downtown Mag Mile for 6 nights but I could not get Marriott for the last 2 nights. This is our first time in Chicago so is Mag Mile North - Water Tower zone hotels far from restaurants/comedy or blues clubs?

AaronJB Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 The Public is in the very nice Gold Coast area, which offers a good deal of restaurants and some nightlife. However, it's a few minutes walk North of the very North end of the North Michigan Ave area - it's a very nice location but not a central one. The Sax (which was formerly the House of Blues Hotel - the HOB is still across the driveway) is in a much more centrally located area and an easy stroll from the River North area, which is a great area for a wide variety of dining.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
