So, I screwed up my original reservation for our last two nights in Vegas and then had to scramble to find another room. For whatever reason, a LOT of the hotels were booked up on November 1st (not the 2nd or the weekend, just the 1st) so it was tough to find a decent price on a decent place. I had found a good price for the Plaza on Hotwire which I had wanted to go to because I haven't been since the remodel but the reviews have been less than stellar and I found out they have a resort fee now. Sure, it's only 10 bucks a night and that's for parking, wi-fi, and 4 bottled waters, blah blah blah but it just irks me. So decided I wanted to spend a few more bucks to go to a nicer place with good reviews, no resort fee, a nicer pool, free parking and all that. No free wi-fi but if I need it, i can find it easy enough but shouldn't need it by that point in the trip.

I had found what I assumed was the Golden Nugget on Hotwire for $89 a night and thought I'd try to go a little lower even though I knew it would be tough.

I started with a 4 star deluxe room Fremont Street Vicinity for $70, no go.

Saw that Nellis didn't even have 4 stars so tried a second time with that for $75. Nope.

Tried one last time before booking on Hotwire adding NW Las Vegas (also no 4 stars) for $80. Got it.

So, only about $20 in savings over Hotwire but hey, that's a drink or two.. ha! And the "kids" will be ultra excited about the 3 story pool with 30 foot waterslide through a shark tank!
