astra Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Have been trying to score a deal in the downtown/airport area for the past few days... Started with 3* in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, bid $50, was rejectedAdded Airport North, bid $55, was rejectedAdded Hollywood/FLL Airport, bid $60, was rejected.Tried again the next day with the same strategy starting at $55-60-65, was rejected.Tried again the next day starting at $60-65-70, finally won Riverside Hotel for $70. Based on previous posts, I was hoping I could score a better deal, but alas, I didn't want to wait until the last minute, so this will have to do. A decent deal compared to the posted price of $168.(used the PRICELINE link from this site, by the way)
thereuare Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Congratulations on your success! While perhaps more than you were hoping for spend in dollar terms, rates are date specific and therefore it's usually best to evaluate the deal based upon a conventionally booked room for the same dates... not necessarily what others have paid for dates different then your own. In this sense this win is a VERY GOOD deal at better than half off of prevailing rates... well done!Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.
