tamatem Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I've begun bidding for central Boston for these dates, bidding up to 171 with no luck.Would prefer one four-star hotel for the total of my stay, but I realize that is asking for the world. My absolute max is $200 per night, but would prefer to spend far less, if possible. Will also consider Cambridge as a last resort and if the property is an appealing option.

AaronJB Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Unfortunately, these dates are an instance of busy across the board - if there was a particular issue (convention, etc) causing problems with a portion, then I would suggest splitting the stay, but it doesn't seem as if that would be a benefit with these dates. You could continue trying up to $200 at the 4* level, or could consider looking at the 3.5* level and starting lower. In terms of Cambridge as an alternative, would you rather attempt lower star ratings and see if anything would accept in your desired budget range or would you rather look at 4*'s in Cambridge? (Unfortunately, Cambridge is looking pricey for these dates too, as overflow traffic has started to already head in that direction, it looks like.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
tamatem Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 Thank you, Aaron. I'd rather stay in Boston even if I shift to 3.5 stars out of necessity. I hesitate to attempt 3.5 or 3 stars in the theatre area though as last year Ibid on a hotel in that area--under anonymous here still--and landed the rather nasty Courtyard Marriot Tremont/ Downtown with paper-thin walls. Fortunately, it was a short visit.I've never been to Cambridge, so perhaps that might be a vacation in itself. Or maybe even another place to check out in the vicinity with good seafood restarants, cafes, and places to walk.Thank you for your advice. I will keep trying in Boston for now. Let's see what happens.
tamatem Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 I attempted to extend my stay till the 28th, but the price jumps in the 400s at this time. I'll see what happens.
AaronJB Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Congrats on your success.Solid win for this newer boutique property - hope the hotel will work well for your travel plans. Please start a new thread for your additional dates.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
