BEAV Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 This is the Holiday Inn Select - Centreville @ 99 Viger Ave And St Urbain St.Initial bid of USD $63 produced counteroffer to add $17. With no free rebids for 3 star category, started a completely new bid at USD $68, checking both 4 and 3 stars. Accepted. Earlier attempts at 4 star were rejected @ $100. TripAdvisor reviews are marginal, however we'll be arriving late and only need a place to crash for one night.

travellingtom Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 When I tried a new bid, the 4 star is already greyed out from the 3 star bid. Only way was to change dates or add zones. How did you get another bid to go through?
BEAV Posted August 14, 2005 Author Report Posted August 14, 2005 I don't see how any zone could be greyed out if was an entirely new bid, completely independant of any previous bid. Hopefully someone else can jump in and solve the mystery.... :)
travellingtom Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 "Greyed out" was not the correct wording. The new bid with 4* comes back rejected based on the itineray already been tried.
thereuare Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 I don't understand :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
travellingtom Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 If rejected for a 3* bid, with no re-bid zones, starting a new bid with 4* still gets treated as a duplicate bid within the 72 hour period. So I don't see how BEAV "started a new bid checking 3 &4 star", unless the dates were changed or more zones addded, or signed in as a different person. But if you still don't understand, then never mind. Thanks anyway.
BEAV Posted August 15, 2005 Author Report Posted August 15, 2005 I might be able to clear some confusion....Are you thinking my comment about "earlier attempts at 4 star were rejected @ $100" would have made it impossible to include 4 stars in my successfull bid? If so, I should have stated my "earlier" attempts at 4 star were more than 72 hours prior to my successfull bid that included 4 stars. So since I was under no 72 hr lockout at the time of my successfull bid, I was free to use 4 stars in my bidding. Hope that helps!
travellingtom Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Yes, that clears it up. Thank you for explaining.
