Hi, would like help IDing hotels in the following Manhattan neighborhoods for 11/9/2012 - 11/11/2012. I selected 3 guests, because I would like 2 beds.

4* - Chelsea - Madison Square Garden Area - $218

Are you two adults and searching for three adults? If you are two adults, I'd search for 2 adults and 1 child. HOWEVER, if you do that, you may see different listings than if you search for 3 adults.

As for the above:

4* Downtown - possible World Center or Club Quarters World Trade

4* MTE - Kimberly would be a possibility.

4* Chelsea - likely Ramada Plaza New Yorker.

The room would be for three adults. This requires me to use HOTWIRE, correct? Since priceline appears to only guarantee double occupancy?

Also, I went back on today and I can't get the same prices...will they just continue going up or do they fluctuate?

Each hotel constantly determines, and adjusts, their rates based upon occupancy levels at their property and how 'compelled' the hotel is to discount. If you're seeing a BIG jump of rates from your last search less than 24 hours ago i'm guessing your previous search may have only been for 2adults while your current search is for 3 adults?

My search was for 3 adults 4* same weekend, MTE went up to $257, Chelsea went up to $256, and Soho isn't even included as an option. This is on hotwire.

If you search for 2adults/0children you''ll see prices within a few dollars of your original post... change to 3 adults. and you'll see the higher rates as per your last post above.

I was explaining that the "price jump" you witnessed was more than likely comparing a 2adult search vs. a 3adults search... not a change in hotel demand or pricing.
