thereuare Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! When i search HOTWIRE for your dates this is the 4* ESB property i'm seeing (priced at $234/nite and also with 4.5/5.0 TA rating): Boutique Business Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Roll-in Shower... if you're seeing this one my best guess is The Kitano.4* Midtown East ==> Best guess is the Intercontinental Barclay or the Grand Hyatt (although i'd slightly favor the InterContinental as being more likely... but you should be prepared for either)4.5* Midtown Central ==> Sofitel New York would be my best guess here. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. edbauguess Posted October 16, 2012 Author Report Posted October 16, 2012 Thanks so much for your help! I booked the 4.5* Midtown Central room through Hotwire, and it is the Sofitel. If anyone has suggestions for bars or restaurants near the hotel, please let me know. Thanks again! I used the HOTWIRE links provided by this site, so if anyone books, be sure to do the same. (always accessible thru the Support Page tab near the top of the board)
thereuare Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and are pleased with the results. If you let me know what type of food, and budget, you're looking for i'll try to make some suggestions; however, you are in 'steak row' with some of the top steak houses in the city right nearby (Del Friscos, Capital Grille, etc), but keep in mind these are often 'business account' lunch places and are on the pricier side.Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. edbauguess Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 We will want to watch college football Saturday night. Is there anywhere nearby to do that? And, are there any nearby breakfast places where we could grab a nice bagel sandwich or pastry and coffee? Thanks again! Beth
thereuare Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 We will want to watch college football Saturday night. Is there anywhere nearby to do that?If you are looking to cheer for a specific team i can try to find a 'home' bar for that school which basically means that everyone there will be cheering for the same team (it's the next best thing to being at the stadium)And, are there any nearby breakfast places where we could grab a nice bagel sandwich or pastry and coffee? Not too far away is my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.
