Going to be looking to bid for South or North strip, 4* or 5* for 11/16-11/18.

North strip will be preferred, but open to south if the deal is much better - as in >$40/night cheaper or something like that.

For the south strip, I've found a code for Monte Carlo and booked direct through their site after taxes/fees its $197, so under $100/night at this point. Can I go lower than than you think with bidding, after all my taxes/fees are worked in?

Did an initial HOTWIRE search (via link on this site) and very likely Trump coming up (listed Kitchenette) for $244.00 after taxes/fees.

PRICELINE (via link on this site) showing it under general search for $321 + taxes, and Kayak puts it at $295.

On the board please list rates per nite before taxes and fees as it makes things more consistent throughout and easier to see alternate options.

The Trump is in PRICELINE's Strip North Vicinity zone... is this zone an option?

You also mention that you'd prefer the Strip North zone and only would consider the Strip South zone if the savings were more than $40/nite, which given your back-up plan would make your Strip North all-in target rate $140... or do you actually prefer the $100/nite at the Monte Carlo?

Please clarify the above and we'll advise accordingly.

Sorry, I'll clarify.

I'm fine with Trump in North Strip or any 4*/5* in North Strip.

Monte Carlo BEFORE taxes/fees average was $88/night. If I could get 5* around $100/night North Strip I'd be fine with that, or 4* around $80/night.

Hope that clarified!

I did a Hotwire search again today and 5* North Strip is averaging $103/night before taxes and likely looks like Trump as it has a kitchenette.

What I want to know is if I can use Priceline and get lower than the Hotwire price for a 5* North Strip?

The only way to know for sure is to actually bid.

Las Vegas is particularly easy to bid, since at the 5 star level there are 11 free re-bid zones (or at least there were the last time I checked). One can explore a range even with just a dollar or two increments.

And even if bidding isn't successful at a particular level, sometimes it is a few days later.

Assuming Strip South, Strip North, and Strip North Vicinity are all acceptable, and you'd first like to try for a 5* hotel up to your limit, and your $100 limit is a bid amount limit, i'd try as follows:

When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip South and Strip North Vicinity and Strip North...

Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

After reviewing hotels we've decided we'd REALLY like to stay at The Trump. We'll revisit other North and South strip hotel bidding as needed.

Right now we've bid up to $85 with North Vicinity selected and rebid adding in zones that are 4* or less, and PL is not taking the bid so far. So we'll have to re-evaluate what we want to spend, and if we want to try for another zone with a 5* or try for 4* as well.

The reason we've picked trying for Trump specifically is because we actually LIKE the fact there is no casino, don't mind the fact its a little off the strip. Our main reason for going is to see the Garth Brooks concert at the Wynn on the 17th, so its a close hotel.

Will keep trying and report back if I get something!

What appears to be the Trump is showing on these dates for $103, so I'd continue up slowly - by $3's - from the last failed bid/$85.

Thank you for keeping us updated and please let us know if you have any questions.

Bid all the way up to $111, North Strip and North Strip Vicinity, 5* only, still nothing. At that price, after resort fees, the savings are minimal.

Any recommendations? Would really like Trump, but can't seem to get it through bidding.

If you are bidding for North Strip Vicinity up to $111, I definitely wouldn't go any further. HOTWIRE is showing what appears to be the Trump for $103 -

5* Strip North $103, likely the Trump (the price you see may vary slightly.)

Went with HOTWIRE- used your links here - and it was indeed Trump. With taxes/fees/resort fees came in at our top amount to spend. Will update the other forum with the winning bid info :)

Will be our first time at Trump :D
