I began to appreciate the risk I was taking and stopped.So I am wanting to know what to do...when do the zones "reset" so I can continue?Thanks,Charles

AaronJB Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 You can only make a specific bid (lets say, Midtown East 4*) once per 24 hours (if a specific bid fails, you cannot make that bid again for 24 hours.) You can use re-bidding to get more opportunities each day, but it's important to understand re-bidding before starting in with the strategy.You cannot ensure a particular bidding type when using PRICELINE - one of the trade-offs for the discounted rates. In NYC, however, rooms are often small (even at some 3.5*/4* properties) to the point where king beds are a paid upgrade. My goal would be the best deal on a hotel in midtown as you could easily get to most locations throughout the city (including the MOMA) via subway. However, this is what i would do, and ultimately it's your stay and you have to decide just how many times you'll be heading to the Moma vs. other locations throughout the city and just how close you need to be. Even a $10 taxi ride every day would add $20 expense to your budget, so i'd rather save $50/nite on a hotel and spend $20/day on taxis as i would still come up ahead of the game (and the $30 saved could be spent on something more enjoyable/memorable to make the NYC trip special). If you decide you'd prefer to bid higher for only CPS we can suggest a strategy for that as well, but i would consider including other zones that you could make work for your plans.Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
