Priceline Hotel: looking for cheaper then 144$

my sister and my mother are going to NY from 22 to september till 2 to october - 10 nights total.

I already reserved a room at the portland square hotel for 144 which is located in the heart of MTW.

now i'm looking to sweeten the deal.

Can i win in priceline in a bid for 10 nights?

what are u offering? (as long is the room is reasnoble - no mouse, cockroaches, and u can move around more then 2 steps, private shower - i'll take just about anything)

being close to a subway is important (because of that i have to rule outMTS ).

I think it will be tough to get a 10 nite stay via priceline during this time period.

I don't know much about it, but The Aspen is available for $118/nite. It's on the Upper West Side at 103rd St, but is steps from the 1/9 train.

Is SPLITTING THE BID an option?

if i split the bid is it better 5-5 or 4-6 ?

either way - can i get in these dates anything cheaper then 144 ?
