JerryLara
Using the PRICELINE links:1st Bid $80 Hotel Zone 5* - Not accepted2nd Bid $85 Added Resort - Not Accepted3rd Bid $90 Added H.Z. South - Accepted. Total w/taxes: $111usd (vs $125 from Kayak's rate, same as starwood's rate)I'm OK with the deal. I saved a few bucks but still got some bittersweet feeling that I should've tried adding "Downtown" at same star level to keep bidding for the "hotel zone". Deals are not as good as they used to be a few years back, right? Thanks Betterbidding! Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While perhaps not as much of a deal as you would have liked, hopefully you're at least happy with the hotel received.Rooms rates (thru both 'retail' and 'opaque' channels) are up over the last few years so in dollars terms it may take a higher bid than in previous years, but since the room thru retail channels is higher as well, it's often still a very nice discount deal. More specifically to this particular stay, i think it being Thanksgiving may be why it's not as much of a discount as usual... those not visiting family for the holiday may take a quick long weekend trip away, thus higher demand for this nite not only means higher prices, but fewer unsold rooms so hotels don't need to discount as deeply.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. haygar2389
I have stayed here and its a nice hotel but not close to anything. There is a bus that runs I think every 15 minutes It will cost you 1.00 per trip to get to the main hotel area and Downtown. Its one of the better beaches and a nice place to just relax.
