Quacksterup Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Hello,I am going to NYC 10/12-10/15. I could use help getting a good deal on HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. I'm willing to split the stay in two hotels. I've been tracking hotel prices for the last week or so, hoping they would go down, but alas they haven't. So, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I'd appreciate it!Here is what I've tried so far on priceline:3* @ 175 at all Manhattan locations (CPS, Chelsea, Downtown, Empire State, Hell's Kitchen, LES, MSG, ME, MW, Soho, TS, UES, UWS)4* @ 190 at (CPS, TS, ME, MW) per someones posting in the NYC priceline forum last night. Thanks,Steven
AaronJB Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Sorry to hear that your bids haven't been accepted yet - unfortunately this is a difficult set of dates. What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Is there a reason you're avoiding the ESB zone at the 4* level as this zone typically works out well for the average use in addition to the zones you have already included.I'm guessing you're about $20-$30 way from a win at each star level you mention bidding (and no 3.5* bidding? you went straight from 4* down to 3*?)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Quacksterup Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 Thanks the the help!I actually found a pretty good deal at the Double Tree in Times Squares South. Total for three nights is $753.Sorry I wasn't clear on the posting. I had tried 3*, 3.5*, and 4*. I had not tried ESB for 4*. I was going off what someone had posted the other day. That user had won a *4 for $190 10/12-10/14. I guess I still have some learning to do.
