allygator88 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I started bidding on a 3.5* Disneyland South area hotel last week for dates 10/21-10/27. Started my bid at $55 and increased $3 each day or time. Some of the times I bid both Disney North and South but no luck. Bid $91 last night on Disney North and South. Still no luck. I see tons of other people getting a room for way less. Why aren't my bids being accepted? Is it because of the dates? Is my stay too long? Am starting to get frustrated and worried that we won't have anywhere to stay by the time we leave!
AaronJB Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. 10/21-25/26 seems moderately better than 10/25-27; would you have any interest in splitting your stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I didn't spend a long time on this, as I'm supposed to be packing for my own trip. But - in HOTWIRE, if I use your full span of dates the only Disneyland available is 3.5*s and down. No 4*s. Since Hotwire can be a little more generous with stars than PRICELINE, your PRICELINE 3.5* bid is sort of like a Hotwire 4 *. As in - no availability. However, if I just put in 10/21, HOTWIRE does have 4* Disneyland availability - $85. You can check the other dates and see what turns up. It certainly supports AaronJB's question about splitting your bid. Assuming you are willing to change hotels, it might turn out well for you.You can use the HOTWIRE box just above to quickly check things out.Romelle
allygator88 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 I never thought about splitting. We certainly could do that though as we will have a car and are only in Disney from 10/21-10/24 and then 10/25-10/27 we will be at Seaworld and Universal Studios. What would be the best zone to bid in that's nearest either Seaworld or Universal Studios? Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 PRICELINE has two such zone:Sea World - Intl. Drive - Convention Center Universal Orlando Resort Area - Intl. Drive NorthYou should look at each to determine if either/both are acceptable for your needs.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. allygator88 Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 Started bidding for the entire length of our stay (10/21-10/27) but after receiving tips from other forum members decided to split the trip. Won this for the first part of our trip on my first bid! $71. Saved 49%!! Super happy that we got an all suite hotel. Now just gotta win somewhere else for the second part.
