destinys95 Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I'm going to Las Vegas 10/12 to 10/16 and I want to stay at Venetian, Palazzo, or Wynn so I'm bidding 5* North. I saw on another post that the rebid zones would be Boulder, henderson, fremont, lake, Airport, Convention, NW las Vegas, Near East, Near West, Nellis, Summerlin. (11 total) How do I check if this is correct?
thereuare Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Those are your ELEVEN re-bid zones, but you should check them just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed since you last checked. To learn how to determine your re-bid zones see this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedIf you read the above and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you.I'm going to Las Vegas 10/12 to 10/16 and I want to stay at Venetian, Palazzo, or Wynn so I'm bidding 5* North.Just a point of clarification that you're bidding on a 5* hotel in this zone... not specficially one of these three hotels. The Encore might be a possibility, as well as any other hotel in the zone that PRICELINE deems to be worthy of a 5* rating (i don't know of any, but you at least have to understand the possibility of something else coming up)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know if you understand the re-bidding, and if you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know your maximum bid for this trip and we'll advise accordingly. destinys95 Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 I started my bid at $130 for Las Vegas Strip North and when that was rejected I added Fremont and my bid for $140 was rejected so then I was able to rebid without changing anything so I bid $150 and it was accepted for Trump north vicinity and I freaked out cause I never chose north vicinity because I didn't want Trump. I called Priceline and the lady that helped me was nice. I told her that I felt like it was a computer glitch and I never clicked north vicinity. She said as a one time courtesy she would refund my money and I would be charged $175 for cancelling. If I rebook using priceline they will refund $150 and I will only be out $25 for cancelling. I received the email confirming this so I will try and rebook in the morning.

destinys95 Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 I just checked my account and the refund was posted so I'm ready to book today. I'm thinking I might need to drop down to a 4* because even after the win there's taxes and resort fees. I saw on PRICELINE that Treasure Island is going for $106/night so I might just book that one.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Let us know if you want to try bidding on PRICELINE or go with the Treasure Island Offer. If you decide to bid, do you want to bid only Strip North at the 4* level or include the Strip South too? destinys95 Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 I booked my room last night through Priceline and went with a published hotel. I decided on the Rio ($103/night) because they don't charge resort fees and they have a free shuttle to the strip.
