JustKat Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Hotwire is offering for a 4 star in G-Town/Foggy Bottom with the following amenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet AccessAlso states it is recommended by 70% of Hotwire customers.Doesn't match at all with the Westin, the only 4* currently listed for that area. Has the Fairmont appeared at all for anyone? That's the only other in that area that I think may fit.Thank you.

JustKat Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 Sorry about that. So the dates I'm looking at are three nights, 10/26 - 10/29.A 4* Georgetown/Foggybottom property is currently on Hotwire for $158/nt. Since the amenities (Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access) don't match any of the listed properties, I'm thinking that maybe the Melrose has been upgraded to 4*...?Thank you for any information.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 The Melrose being upgraded to the 4* level would certainly be a possibility as this property has not been reported to the board thru HOTWIRE since December 2009. So plenty of time for the star rating to have changed, but we can't say with any degree of confidence until it's reported to the board as such.Is this the area you need to stay in or what made this offer attractive, as there appear to be quite a few reasonably priced properties in nearby neighboring zones. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. JustKat Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 Thanks so much for your help! Yes, my son lives in the West End so I much prefer to be in that area. Dupont would be an option, however, some of the properties in that zone are in Woodley Park which is too out of the way. Thanks again and I will definitely use the board links if I purchase!
thereuare Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 The 4* Dupont Circle-Woodley Park hotel for $107/nite with: Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Spa Deaf Accessible Free Internet Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower... matches previous reports for the Omni Shoreham and that would be my best guess for this one.If this doesn't work for your needs, i'd suggest our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com where you can select the distance from your son's address, then filter the hotels by star rating and easily see how much more/less it will cost to stay closer/further away as well as to go up/down in star rating. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this trip or if we can be of further help.
