icnacnud
We are LA locals who want to do a local getaway with the kids for the weekend. We're not especially choosy, but would like to have decent place with a pool (no less than 2*) and would love to get a place with a kitchen (like the Residence Inn or similar). We can go anywhere in LA County, but we really don't want to go over $50/nite for our bid. Any suggestions or advice?PS. Thanks for a great site. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!I would recommend starting with some Hotwire searches for different areas within Los Angeles as well as various dates...Hotwire will enable you to search for quad occupancy, as well as let you know before purchase if the hotel has a pool and/or a kitchenette... none of which can be done thru Priceline. When you see a hotel at/near your pricepoint we can then help you identify the actual property before your purchase. Guest aldo
The Residence Inn Manhattan Beach (2 1/2*) comes up alot, and is in your price range. It seems to only be available (sometimes but not always) at the last minute for $35-38. Maybe if holtju2 sees this, he/she can tell you more about this property and how to get it... Link to comment
icnacnud
We are happy to have found a good place to stay for less than our $50 budget for our weekend getaway. It's not a suite and no kitchen, but they do have a nice pool (I've stayed there before.) Thanks for the advice on my earlier post! Link to comment
thereuare
Glad it worked out well for you and you are pleased with the results. Was this your first bid in the zone or were you rejected at lower bids previously?Enjoy your stay and 'weekend away'. icnacnud
I believe we got the $49 on our second try. The first try was $45 and rejected, and we used your free retry strategy to great success. Thanks! Link to comment
