Kim L. Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 Hello, I am looking for bidding help on a Downtown Seattle, preferably Pike Place, or perhaps Space Needle (2nd preference) hotel for 4 nights, 10/12/12 - 10/16/12. I am looking for something in the 2.5 - 3.5 star range, budget is a maximum of $150 per night. Is this possible? My travel dates are not flexible but my star range and budget are minimally flexible.Thank you in advance for your help!Kim
thereuare Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* vs. a 2.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay? Are you willing to pay more to stay in the Pike Place zone vs. the Space Needle? Also, there is a fairly major rate change between your weekend and mid-week dates, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... please click each of these links before replying.Thanks. Kim L. Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 My goal is the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay. I am willing to pay more to stay in the Pike Place zone... we are not renting a car and are hoping to walk as much as possible and to use public transportation when necessary.I am definitely willing to split my PRICELINE bid... would be very grateful for guidance there as well.Thank you for your reply!
thereuare Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Rates for 10/14-10/16 are getting a hotel for less than $100/nite shouldn't be any issue, but 10/12-10/14 is VERY problematic and i don't see anything at 2.5* or above that will be reasonably priced (even at $200/nite, which with the other 2 nites at $100 or less would bring the average to less than $150/nite)For 10/12-10/14 area you willing to stay outside of the city? Although not the most convenient, you could stay by the airport and take the lightrail to downtown (about a 50 minute ride).... or Bellevue could be another option if you could find something that is 'truly' Downtown Bellevue and then take the bus into Seattle.Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there, as you'll at least need to have a plan for the more difficult nites before you go ahead and pick up the less expensive nites. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Kim L. Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 I ended up using Hotwire to book two separate stays through the betterbidding.com links. I will post the hotels and rates in the Hotwire forum. If I may ask, is there an event going on in Downtown Seattle that weekend? I tried Googling events but wasn't able to find anything that would cause rates to go up by that much. Thanks for your help!Kim
