Priceline Hotel: Need help with NYC trip (leaving tomorrow)

This is my first time using this site. I"m looking to stay in NYC tomorrow - saturday in a 3 1/2 and up hotel. I'd like to stay somewhere in walking distance of "fun" stuff. So Times Square Area. Maybe over near 30 rock...or other areas. I looked on Hotwire and saw some stuff around 200 bucks. I was wondering if someone could help me out with a bidding stragegry, what sort of pricing you think I should expect, etc.

With only one night until the stay, there is not a lot of room to re-bid. Just to confirm, how many nights are you staying (only tomorrow?) and which zones would be acceptable?

Sorry, it will be 3 nights. As far as zones, I'm open to what ever is close to "stuff." For instance Time Square...and maybe the area by 30 Rock (not sure what that is officially called.)

There is 'stuff' all over NYC... you don't need to only stay 'right on top of' Times Square.

HOTWIRE has a 3.5* hotel (i'm guessing the Desmond Tutu Center) for $217/nite... this hotel is located a bit West of midtown, but it is in the meat packing district which is a hot area right now with bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. and it does generally get very good reviews with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating. HOWEVEr, note that this property is only 2* rated by PRICELINE, most likely due to a lack of amenities (ie- no Restaurant) as opposed to poor reviews/service. Would this property be acceptable?
