Pam1951 Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Will be in Chicago for wedding and need hotel room somewhere downtown. Just checked and for the neighborhood Magnificent Mile North Water Tower there is 3* hotel for $58 night - says 95% positive reviews. Has indoor pool, business center, fitness center, laundry, restaurant, free internet. Any reason I should be nervous about this? Then another 3.5* Magnificent Mile River North for $82 again 95% positive reviews with fitness ctr, business ctr, restaurant, pool, high speed internet. Again what gives, these rates are cheaper than what a comfort inn costs in my small Ohio town. Thanks for any guidance
AaronJB Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. This is generally a fairly low-key period in the city with cool temps (although you never know with Winter in Chicago), so these rates are not unusual. The 3.5* Mag Mile-RN is likely the Doubletree. My guess is that the 3* Mag Mile-RN may be a new amenity set for the Four Points Mag Mile.I will say I'm seeing a 4.5* in the Mag Mile-RN area for $95 (you may see a slightly different rate) w/Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower. That would be a possible match for the James, which - for not much more than the potential Doubletree per night - would be a nice upgrade. Please let us know if you have any questions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
